Jon Sagal
Jon Sagal is currently a Managing Director at Starboard Value, a New York-based investment adviser that invests in deeply undervalued small cap companies and actively engages with management teams and boards of directors to unlock value for shareholders. He also serves on the board of directors of Bloomin' Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLMN), one of the world's largest casual dining companies. Before joining Starboard in 2011, Jon was an investment analyst at Casablanca Capital, a New York-based investment adviser focused primarily in publicly traded companies. Previously, Jon worked at Mill Road Capital an investment analyst, where he focused on long-term public and private equity investments in microcap companies, and at Prentice Capital Management, where he specialized in consumer and retail investments. He began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Rothschild Inc.
Jon received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he served as Co-President of the LEO Impact Fund during the 2011–2012 academic year, and graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Philosophy. Prior to pursuing his M.B.A., Jon gained microfinance experience with PlaNet Finance in Kathmandu, Nepal.
